The FPÖ and ÖVP presented the details of the budget agreement on Thursday! And there was one surprise: the climate ticket is staying.

At a press conference in parliament on Thursday, FPÖ finance spokesman Hubert Fuchs and ÖVP parliamentary group chairman August Wöginger announced details of the savings plans that are currently the focus of the coalition negotiations.
And there were a few surprises along the way! The climate bonus has been cancelled, but the climate ticket will remain. Only the free climate ticket for under-18s will be abolished.

The previous tax benefits for e-cars are also to be abolished! Abolishing this privilege is expected to add more than 50 million euros to the coffers. The mileage allowance for bicycles and motorcycles is to be cut. The mileage allowance for motorcycles is to be halved, and that for bicycles is even quartered.

Additional income opportunities for unemployed people are also to be curtailed. It is hoped that this will result in savings of 82.5 million euros. There will also be changes to the tax benefits for e-cars.

The valorization of federal fees, which have not been increased since 2020, is also to be made up for. This means that driving licenses and registration certificates will become significantly more expensive.
